I have already told many people about this (canonmates included) and I'm sure many others have probably already figured it out.
So...
I am updating Lelouch to post-series or rather, the end of the series.
First I will give a quick run-down on the why. For a while I've had trouble playing Lelouch because I worry his interactions, especially canonmates ones, can only go so far without smacking into plot paradoxes. I know I shouldn't care, but since I did originally want to update to somewhere in R2, it matters. Basically, I want freedom of reply, and this way I will get it. I also am interested in playing Lelouch in his fully developed, matured self. It sounds like a new challenge for me, and it will help me deal with my waaaaah about the end. I think there are some key differences with Lelouch after Turn 21 and I want to explore them.
For people who normally play with Lelouch Lamperouge, you will now be playing with Lelouch vi Britannia.
What does this mean?
- Lelouch has both camp and all his normal memories, the last being him dying in Nunnally's arms. Lelouch also has double-geass but has his nifty awesome contacts of awesome. (I do this mostly so I have options for TERRIBLE CONTACTS MISTAKES much later down the road). That said, Lelouch will be feigning coming from Kallen's timeline. This matters little to non-castmates aside from me saying "No, he's not going to be introducing himself as 99th Emperor of Britannia or whatever."
-Yes, there will be personality differences. The biggest ones I've noticed are the general lack of anger (read: less hating the world), potentially less flailing and bitching but I will address that further down and less blatant bastardness since he's no longer playing a role. Lelouch will also be distant at first since he'll have the whole "... why am I here" to deal with. Don't worry. I plan to roll with that for maybe a month or a little less. I have no intention of angsting things up too badly. But yeah, I'm looking for people who usually thread with him to help me out with this by coming and poking him and forcing him to interact. It'll be fun. o/
-Castmates already know what this means to them. But characters might notice Lelouch being ESPECIALLY distant around them.
-I figure as Lelouch gets more used to camp again, his more casual reactions will return since I do think they have always been part of his character: overreacting/scolding. BUT they will be toned down. So yeah, biggest difference will be the lack of world-hating, and Lelouch isn't going to fake that. I'm sure he'll have some fabulous excuses for that, if anyone asks.
-I never do the Zero thing anyway so I doubt the lack of that will be an issue.
So yep, next time I thread with Lelouch, it'll be the updated version.
Oh I will also be redoing about a third of my icons next week. Yays. This is just because I can. Lelouch looks the same as before. No emperor outfits or anything. Yes, I'm sure we're all VERY disappointed.
