thekingsgambitThis is a horrible crack idea that popped into my head after a late-night conversations with Suzaku one night. I know I'm probably supposed to be working on some essay or even my work assignment but creating terrible backstory is so much more fun.
Anyway, if you read the out-of-chan logs, you'll see where Suzaku and I discuss how Lelouch does his nails. I've been checking out some of the official art, particularly this one, you'll see Lelouch has some very very well-kept nails. They're also slightly long, but we'll point and laugh at that some other time. After encountering more than one canon art example of this trend, I decided ICly that Lelouch does do his nails. I imagine he used to do Nunnally's for her (he being the type to pamper and preen) and one day, when he was younger, decided to try it out for himself in hopes of making it easier to do his girlie little handicrafts or, as Suzaku-mun says, play chess. There was a certain meticulous quality to the action that appealed to him and gradually it became a habit that he keeps even now. C.C. probably enjoys nagging and teasing him for devoting time to something so pointless, but it's a good opportunity for quiet and reflection on current happenings. And yes, he still does it at camp, probably when nobody's around and he's letting Arthur nap next to him. We just know Arthur is planning to make off with that nail file one day.
