I'm going to have to make a different post for the translated interviews I save from GameFAQs since the formatting of the old post got screwed along the way and is very finicky with < > tags now.

You know the deal. Translations not mine, done by Celiss. Visit link party on dudes.

These are also posted further down in the section for "Ura de Net Geass" but I wanted to include them so I could point and laugh:

- Yoshino ended up writing the script for episode 19; supposedly he requested to do it, saying "Oh well, if (Okouchi) wants me to write a script, I might as well do the island arc." (he's more or less the fanservice supervisor for this show) According to him (and the Newtype Taniguchi + Fu-kuyama interview), this was how Lelouch's trap was supposed to work: Lelouch successfully digs a proper hole --> However, a boar appears behind him --> Lelouch tries to Geass it: "Lelouch Vi Britannia orders you to SIT!" --> Geass doesn't work on animals --> Lulu Quality Tragedy (Wait, isn't this just like that one fancomic? o__O) However, Taniguchi changed it all, telling Yoshino: "Well, in the first place, Lelouch isn't capable of digging such a hole...

Awww, I love that fanart. I really want to see Lelouch get PWNED by a boar. But how would dear Euphie save him? But Taniguchi's conclusion is still the best.

- The reason why the writers made Kallen stand on Gawain's shoulder instead of getting into the two-seater cockpit with Lelouch in episode 19: "There's no way Kallen will hand over the 2nd-pilot position to anyone else once she's in there." Good point.

True, but would Kallen stand against Zero is the question here.

Random quotes from the Stage 8 Audio Commentary that I found of particular interest:

Commentators: Fu-kuyama Jun (Lelouch's VA), Madono Mitsuaki (Ougi's VA), Tanaka Kazunari (Tamaki's VA), Kawaguchi Yoshitaka (Producer)

-[on the part where Zero tells his soon-to-be Knights: "We are not terrorists... we are allies of justice!"]
All: "Bull****!" (T/N: The literal translation is "That sounds so suspicious! / What a shady person!")

You know, I think I said this the first time I saw this episode as well. Either that or laughed my ass off.

-[On the scene where Cecile briefs Suzaku on the mission]
Tanaka: "Yeah, I'm grateful to whoever designed the Knightmares. It has ejection blocks! Wonderful! If it weren't for that we'd all be dead now. This episode wouldn't even exist. We'd all be dead."
Jun: "Especially Lelouch."
(All agree)
Tanaka: "Isn't it rare for a mecha protagonist to have such sucky piloting skills?"
Jun: "No, I don't think he sucks, it's just that everyone else is too good. I'm sure that's how he thinks: "I don't suck; everyone else is just too good."" (T/N: No, you suck.)

XD XD Jun-kun fully understands Lulu Quality logic.

- [random commentary]
Jun: "Lelouch likes to reject the opinion of others, doesn't he?" (T/N: Things like, "No, you're wrong", etc)
Tamaki: "Lelouch has that condescending, holier-than-thou attitude, doesn't he? What was it again, his cellphone message..."
Jun : "This is Lelouch."
Madono: "Exactly! What's with that attitude!?"
Jun: "Normally you just say "It's me"."
Madono: "Kururugi Suzaku is hard to pronounce, isn't it?"
Jun: "I checked the dictionary, and it seems that the kanji for "Kururugi" carries the meaning "to stop; halt". I wonder if that means Kururugi Suzaku is the one who keeps Lelouch in check."
Tanaka: "...All I thought was "Man, that's one hard-to-pronounce name."

Lulu, you bitch. But hmm, the Suzaku thing must have been fun to speculate on at the time. I'm sure Suzaku can still do it WITH A BULLET.

Ok, this has last one has little to no Lelouch relevance but I love Milly so you're getting it as well. I'm sure you're very pained.

-[On the scene in which Milly comforts Nina, telling her she won't leave her behind "this time"]
Jun: "I've been wondering about this, but what happened between them?"
Kawaguchi: "It's not like anything happened between them... the two of them are childhood friends. Milly knows Nina very well, even the fact that she is "different" " (T/N: Okay, Milly knows Nina's sexuality... moving on...)
Jun: "When I first read the script, I thought these two were definitely in love with each other..." (T/N: So did I, so did I...)

And some random notes from the novel:

- At fishing: Suzaku (not human! 9-year-old boy) > Nunnally (blind and crippled 6-year-old girl) > Lelouch (healthy? 9-year-old boy)

- At kendama (the Japanese hammer + ball toy thingy): Suzaku (not human! 9-year-old) > Nunnally (blind and crippled 6-year-old girl) > Lelouch (healthy? 9-year-old boy)

Nunnally tops Lulu. While I am not surprised, I can't say that I'm not concerned.
