Of course, it was as impossible then as it is now. And even knowing that, amid these familiar scents, her touch on his cheek, and so many memories of a young girl who always just wanted to find someway to help him, he can't stop himself from wanting more.

His hand cups the back of her neck as he kisses deeper, the simple concept of need overtaking everything else.

[Part of him wishes he could convince himself it was just the pull of her blood, that this desperation, this hunger, racing through him is just the vampire's basic instinct. But no matter how much that monster is pining for pureblood, that other part of his conscious, the part that he is trying fervently to ignore, knows this is much more than that. And as he loses himself in the kiss, he realizes it is that part keeping his blood-lust at bay.
