[outside cabin we have a young terrorist-cum-catsitter studying the camper registry and subsequent logs intently while quietly talking to himself. making this task a bit more difficult than usual is one kitten batting at the screen while another snoozes just next to laptop. said sleepy kitten might be getting barely noticeable pettings. thankfully dragon kitty appears to be keeping her distance for the time being and watches from a few feet away]

Maybe one of the new campers will be more easily persuaded. As long as Usagi doesn't learn about the exchange until after a success acclimation, she shouldn't be able to interfere. I'll figure out what to do with the third one later.

[Where once we had a princess finishing up her work inside this all-important cabin, we now have one walking briskly through the door and past our young terrorist-cum-catsitter. Or we had a brisk walker anyway, as with great speed comes great cape-flowing, which itself attracts the attention of a kitten with an apparent penchant for capes in motion. Our princess's trip is cut woefully short as she stops, turns, and attempts to remove the little bugger.]

[ironically that was the usually lazy kitten hmm. and since said kitten had to suddenly fly off someone's lap to pursue you there might have been some claw-meet-leg action and some delightful yelps of pain to go along with. that being said attention that might have been focused on the culprit is now focused on our surprise guest]

That's the first time I've seen her do anything active. Of course, she hasn't had much opportunity to be around capes.

[reluctantly takes kitty and does another subtle examination of those paws with a quick downward glance before finally holding her to his chest and pretending to be concentrating on calming kitty]

Has she had the opportunity to see you around cats before? You appear rather fond of them. She may have picked up on that and allowed it to outweigh all other considerations, obvious or otherwise. Beneficence can be blinding.

I am not fond of them. But it seems that those around me wish to surround themselves in the creatures. She would do better to consider the others who live here when making such unexpected deliveries.

I merely didn't wish to leave them unattended at their age. They can cause much less damage out here. I should think you'd approve of maintaining some order in spite of everything else.

Believe what you wish. They won't be here much longer either way. I prefer keeping as much logic as possible. In the long run, it will serve its purpose better than adopting the manic nature of this place.
